Role Objective:
Sacha aims its investments at projects where the best motivations of ‘margin’ and ‘mission’ combine. The Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations is responsible for the ongoing management, administration, and monitoring of the organization’s loan and investment portfolio. This role ensures that investments are effectively monitored throughout their lifecycle, fund operations are administered accurately, regulatory requirements are met, and that timely information is available to support strategic decision-making.
The Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations will establish scalable portfolio management systems and processes that support the organization's continued growth.
Working closely with the Sacha team, borrowers, investees, legal counsel, and external stakeholders, the Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations provides analytical support, oversees portfolio reporting and compliance, manages portfolio data systems, and ensures the smooth administration of loan and investment transactions. As the organization grows, the role will also lead the development and continuous improvement of portfolio management systems and reporting processes.
The current portfolio consists of just under 20 active investments with approximately $90 million deployed.
Key Activities:
The Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations will be part of a small but mighty team focused on investing where positive impact and positive financial performance converge. The Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations will generally be responsible for:
1. Portfolio Management & Monitoring
- Monitor the performance and compliance of the organization’s loan and investment portfolio.
- Maintain accurate records of all investment agreements, loan documents, covenants, security, reporting requirements, and key milestones.
- Review borrower and investee reporting, including financial statements, budgets, compliance certificates,
and other required documentation.
- Identify emerging risks or issues requiring management attention.
- Coordinate annual and ongoing reviews of portfolio investments.
1. Client Relationships
- Coordinate with Sacha team to maintain regular communication with clients regarding reporting obligations, covenant compliance, payment schedules, and information requests.
- Foster professional, team-oriented relationships that support successful long-term partnerships.
1. Fund Administration
- Assist with investment closings and ongoing administration of loan and investment documentation.
- Track loan repayments, interest payments, distributions, fees, and maturity dates.
- Maintain accurate records of fund activity and support reconciliations with finance staff.
- Monitor portfolio cash flows and payment schedules.
1. Reporting
- Develop dashboards and portfolio analytics that communicate portfolio performance, risk, capital deployment, and compliance.
1. Data Systems & Process Improvement
- Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of portfolio management systems and reporting databases, including identifying opportunities to automate workflows and improve operational efficiency.
1. Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable lending and investment regulations, including requirements under the Mortgage Broker Act (or successor legislation), where applicable.
- Maintain required records and documentation supporting regulatory compliance.
Skills and Qualifications:
This role is ideal for someone at least 2 years of experience in finance, business administration, accounting, or economics (with a focus on real estate) and a passion for using these qualifications to integrate social and environmental considerations into investment modeling, evaluation, and consideration.
The Manager, Portfolio & Fund Operations will bring the following skills to this position:
- Strong financial analysis and modelling skills.
- Experience administering loan portfolios or investment funds.
- Knowledge of commercial lending documentation and loan administration.
- Familiarity with Canadian mortgage lending regulations; knowledge of Mortgage Broker Act requirements is considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with portfolio management, CRM, or investment management systems.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy.

Other Information about the Role: This role will report to Sacha’s Chief Real Estate Investment Officer. Office, home-based, or hybrid work options are possible. A competitive compensation package will be offered to our ideal candidate.
Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
