MANAGING PHARMACIST AND CO-OWNERSHIP

Comox Valley, BC

Amy Oliver + Co. is recruiting for a confidential Managing Pharmacist & Co-Ownership opportunity with an independently owned community pharmacy in the Comox Valley.

The Managing Pharmacist will lead day-to-day pharmacy operations, team leadership, regulatory compliance, and patient care.

Key Responsibilities: Patient Care & Clinical Services

- Provide safe, patient-centred prescription dispensing, medication management, counselling, and follow-up.
- Administer vaccines and injections in accordance with British Columbia regulatory requirements.
- Deliver and expand clinical services, including medication reviews, compliance packaging, chronic disease management, and other services within scope of practice.
- Build strong relationships with patients, families, prescribers, healthcare providers, and community partners.
- Identify opportunities to enhance clinical services and patient outcomes.

Regulatory Compliance

- Ensure compliance with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC), BC Ministry of Health, Health Canada, and applicable legislation and standards.
- Maintain accurate patient records, prescription documentation, inventory controls, and medication handling procedures.
- Uphold high standards of pharmacy practice, patient safety, and professional conduct.

Leadership & Team Management





- Lead and oversee pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy assistants, including recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management.
- Manage scheduling, workflow, delegation, and daily operations to support an efficient and collaborative team.
- Foster a positive, respectful culture focused on patient care, accountability, and professional development.

Business & Pharmacy Operations

- Oversee day-to-day operations, including inventory, ordering, workflow, technology, and cost control.
- Monitor operational performance, including dispensing accuracy, wait times, patient satisfaction, and workflow efficiency.
- Partner with ownership on financial performance, business planning, growth strategies, and operational goals.
- Identify opportunities to grow pharmacy services, patient volume, and community healthcare relationships.
- Develop a strong understanding of the pharmacy’s operational and financial performance

Qualifications

- Licensed and in good standing, or eligible for licensure, with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia (CPBC).
- Authorized to administer injections and immunizations in BC, or eligible to obtain authorization.




- Minimum 5 years of community pharmacy experience; management or leadership experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of community pharmacy operations, BC regulatory requirements, and clinical best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills.
- Business-minded with an interest in pharmacy growth and ownership.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high standard of patient care.
- Additional clinical certifications or training considered an asset.

Working Conditions: Full-time, on-site community pharmacy role; evenings/weekends as required.

Compensation & Benefits:

- $70 to $75 per hour (negotiable based on experience)
