Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated Part-Time Math, Science, and English Tutor to deliver engaging, in-person instruction for elementary and high school students. In this role, you will empower students to reach their full academic potential by providing personalized support, building confidence, and fostering a genuine love for learning.

You will work with students from diverse learning backgrounds including those with special education needs delivering tailored instruction that drives real academic progress. Key Responsibilities

- Tailored Instruction: Deliver engaging, one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions in Math, Science, and English aligned with student needs and learning styles.
- Curriculum Alignment: Apply a strong understanding of the Ontario curriculum standards to support homework, test preparation, and course enrichment (including AP/IB Program support where applicable).
- Progress Tracking & Assessment: Evaluate student skill levels, set realistic academic goals, and track individual progress over time.
- Lesson Planning: Develop customized lesson plans utilizing educational best practices, including adaptations for students with special education needs.
- Digital & Material Preparation: Utilize computer skills and educational software to create instructional materials, maintain student records, and provide feedback to parents or guardians.




- Positive Learning Setting: Cultivate a supportive, encouraging space that promotes critical thinking, active participation, and confidence.

Qualifications & Skills

- Education & Certification: Ontario Certified Teacher (OCT) designation is strongly preferred; candidates with extensive, proven tutoring or teaching experience will also be considered.
- Experience: Demonstrated experience teaching or tutoring children and youth in a classroom, tutoring center, or special education setting.
- Curriculum Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Ontario curriculum standards for Math, Science, and English.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to simplify complex concepts and provide constructive feedback to students and parents.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with instructional technology, educational software, and basic computer applications.
- Personal Attributes: High level of patience, adaptability, empathy, and a strong commitment to student achievement.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
