Rosedale Readers Learning Centre is a private, personalized tutoring service dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs. We specialize in individualized instruction for students from Grade 1 and up, with a focus on math, reading, writing, and spelling.

Our math instruction follows a structured, evidence-based, multi-sensory approach, designed to build robust foundational skills, develop mathematical reasoning , and help students approach math with greater confidence.. Every lesson is explicit, carefully paced, and tailored to each student's unique learning profile.

At Rosedale Readers, we believe every child can succeed when given the right tools and support. Struggling with math or other learning challenges is not a reflection of intelligence or effort. Our goal is to help students strengthen their math skills, build confidence, reduce stress around math, and feel proud of their progress in the classroom.

The Role

We are looking for a passionate, enthusiastic and patient Math Tutor to join our team as an independent contractor. You will work one-on-one with students from Grade 1 and up, delivering structured math lessons at our centre located at 822 Millwood Road, Toronto, Ontario

. Students may have a diagnosed or suspected learning difference, including dyscalculia, and may require additional support with foundational math skills.

Prior tutoring/teaching math experience is required.

We will train you in the math program and our approach. What matters most is that you have a strong understanding of mathematics, a genuine interest in supporting children with learning differences, a background in education or a related field and are able to identify a child’s math gaps and work on improving their skills.

What You'll Do

- Deliver one-on-one, in-person math sessions at our centre
- Follow and implement structured lesson plans tailored to each student's individual needs,



covering math skills in: addition, subtraction, multiplication, times tables, division, decimals, fractions and percents.
- Provide engaging, enthusiastic and positive lessons
- Help students develop problem-solving, reasoning, and mathematical thinking skills
- Track student progress and provide clear, concise updates to parents
- Create a warm, encouraging, and supportive learning environment for each student

Who You Are

- Currently enrolled in, or a graduate of, a university or college program in education, child development, mathematic, psychology, special education, or a related field (Required)
- Experience teaching children from grade 1 and above in various educational settings for at least 2 years (Required)
- Strong understanding of elementary-high school mathematics (Required)
- Experience working with children with ADHD, dyscalculia, or other learning differences (Strongly preferred)
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and effectively
- Strong written and oral expression
- Patient, warm, and genuinely passionate about helping children grow and succeed
- Reliable, organized, punctual, and professional in your communication with families
- Comfortable working one-on-one with children who may find math challenging (Required)
- Willing to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to starting (Required)

Schedule & Compensation

- Location: In-person at 822 Millwood Road, Toronto, ON

- Hours: Flexible and varies, availability on weekday evenings and weekends is required. Must be available for a minimum of 8 hours per week.

- Compensation: $25–$35/hr depending on experience
