We are seeking a talented and experienced mechanical engineer to join our power electronics lab. In this role, you will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systems and components for our power electronic platforms while enrolling in a Master’s

program at the University of British Columbia. During this time, you will be developing and honing a diverse set of skills in mechanical and electrical engineering for a wide spectrum of exciting projects with green energy

applications.

Key responsibilities

- Design and analyze mechanical systems and components for power electronics applications

- Develop and test prototypes and production-ready products

- Conduct thermal management and testing for cooling systems

- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and software engineers

Requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field

- 1+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in power electronics or a related industry

- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g.



ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, Abaqus)

- Familiarity with rapid prototyping (3D Printing) and high-volume production methods (injection molding, extrusion, casting, etc.) is a excellent asset.

- Hands-on experience and machining skills are highly valuable.

- Strong problem-solving and communication skills

- Openness to learn and take on new skills.
