Mechanical Superintendent

At X-Tec Mining, we deliver industrial mechanical, fabrication, and maintenance solutions to the mining and heavy resource sectors. From crusher overhauls / rebuilds and leach tank repairs to piping system installation and planned plant mechanical repairs we maintain the infrastructure that keeps resource processing moving.

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Superintendent to work closely with the X-Tec management team with a background in mining / industrial processing, strong safety leadership, and proficiency in project controls to lead our field teams. This role will report directly to the Director of Operations

Key Responsibilities

- Lead Work Projects: Direct field execution for heavy mechanical repairs / installations, structural steel, process piping, and millwrighting. All field supervisors will report to this role and be responsible for effective project execution.
- Leadership: This position will provide mentoring as required to X-Tec Mining employees and coordinating activities with supervisors on site. This role will support workforce training and development as well as employees and business partner performance evaluations
- Scheduling & Digital Controls: Build and manage detailed look-ahead work schedules using MS Project and MS Excel to hit tight project control processes.
- Scoping & Quoting: Perform site walk-downs, quantify material and labor requirements, and draft accurate quotes for field changes and additions.
- Drive Safety Culture:



Assist in the development and enforce comprehensive, site-specific Safety Plans, high-risk work permits (confined space, critical lifts, hot work), and lead daily JHAs.
- Guarantee QA/QC Compliance: Ensure all mechanical assembly, rigging, and welding meet strict engineering specs, client standards, and CWB guidelines.

What You Bring

- 4+ years leading crews as a supervisor or Superintendent in an industrial contracting workplace or in heavy industrial or mining processing mechanical experience. The ability to read drawings and dissimilate data.
- Tech Capabilities: Proficient with MS Suite, including MS Project software for schedule development and MS Excel/Word for daily reporting and change quoting.
- Safety & QA/QC Focus: Solid track record developing site safety plans, managing quality control, and executing turnover packages.
- CWB Supervisor: Certification as a CWB Welding Supervisor (CSA W47.1/W59) is an asset.
- Trade Background: Millwright, Pipefitter, or Welder preferred.
