Job Summary

Athletics and Recreation takes a holistic approach to enhancing the Dalhousie experience by creating and sharing ways to engage and connect students through physical activity and wellness, to contribute to student success. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Marketing, Communications and events, the Coordinator communicates and promotes the activities of the department but not limited to, varsity games, facility services, camps, intramurals and events.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage social media accounts and help maintain a strong online presence for Dalhousie Athletics & Recreation and the Dalhousie Tigers.
- Create and share engaging content across digital platforms, including social media, websites, photos, videos, and promotional materials.
- Support marketing and communications initiatives that promote programs, services, events, and student engagement activities.




- Coordinate game-day operations, promotions, and event logistics for varsity athletics and recreation programs.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and support student staff involved in game-day and promotional activities.
- Track social media performance, prepare reports, and identify opportunities to improve audience engagement and communications effectiveness.

Note Due to operational requirements, the successful applicant is required to work in-person on campus.

Required Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in a communications, public relations or a related field, plus a minimum of three years’ of relevant experience (or an equivalent combination of training and experience).
- Experience in digital communications planning and the implementation of communications plans.
- A proven ability to multi-task effectively and manage competing priorities through efficient time management skills.
- Experience working with technological platforms and various software.
- Ability to lead a team and delegate as required and demonstrated ability to establish positive collaborative work relationships.
- Demonstrated intercultural competence and ability to successfully exercise an inclusive and diversity lens when approaching one’s work and professional conduct.
