Role Description The Medical Laboratory Assistant at Numia Health is a full-time, on-site role based in Burnaby, BC. This role supports daily laboratory operations, including specimen collection, labeling, processing, and preparation for analysis in accordance with established protocols and quality standards.
The Medical Laboratory
Assistant assists with operating and maintaining laboratory equipment, organizing supplies, and ensuring a clean, safe, and compliant work environment.
Responsibilities include accurate data entry,
documentation, and collaboration with laboratory professionals to support timely and reliable test results. The role also involves clear communication with clinical staff and other team members to coordinate workflow and uphold patient-centered service.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Laboratory Medicine and Laboratory Skills relevant to clinical testing and specimen handling.
- Hands-on experience working with Laboratory Equipment, including routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Clear and professional Communication skills for interacting with laboratory colleagues and other healthcare team members.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology to understand test orders, reports, and laboratory documentation.
- Completion of a Medical Laboratory Assistant or related healthcare program, or equivalent practical experience.
- Understanding of laboratory safety, infection control, and quality assurance practices.
- High attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work on-site in Burnaby, BC, in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
