Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our growing team. This role is essential to the day-to-day operations of our clinic, supporting both administrative functions and patient care coordination. The ideal candidate is qualified, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner
- Manage incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
- Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
- Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes
- Verify insurance information and collect applicable payments
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EMR system
- Engage with medical records in a manner that is compliant with PIPA/PIPEDA guidelines
- Assist with basic billing and administrative tasks
- Coordinate referrals with specialists, labs, and other healthcare providers
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar administrative role preferred
- Have an understanding of basic medical terminology
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Experience with Med Access EMR is a bonus
