Medical Office Assistant – Preferred Experience with Healthquest EMR
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical office by providing exceptional administrative support. This position requires excellent organizational skills, proficiency in medical terminology, and experience with electronic medical records systems.
The Medical Office
Assistant will be responsible for managing front desk operations and assisting patients with their needs.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner at the front desk.
- Manage multi-line phone systems to handle incoming calls, schedule appointments, and address patient inquiries.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) and ensure all patient information is up to date.
- Assist with the completion of insurance forms and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate patient flow within the office to optimize efficiency and minimize wait times.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless communication regarding patient care.
- Utilize Healthquest EMR for scheduling and record management.
- Provide support in dental office procedures if applicable, leveraging any dental receptionist experience.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a medical or dental office setting is preferred.
- Proficiency in medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the healthcare environment.
- Familiarity with Healthquest electronic medical records (EMR) system is highly desirable.
- Experience using dental software is a plus.
- Strong administrative skills with a focus on organization and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining professionalism under pressure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for effective interaction with patients and staff.
- Prior experience handling multi-line phone systems is advantageous.
- A positive attitude, robust work ethic, and commitment to providing outstanding patient care are essential qualities for success in this role.
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
