Position: Medical Receptionist

Location: Thunder Bay, ON (1-820 Red River Road)

Job Type: Full-Time, Monday – Friday (9:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Salary: $19 -25 per hour (depending on experience)

MDAC is a specialized diagnostic clinic located in Thunder Bay. We pride ourselves on delivering advanced, productive, and compassionate diagnostic services to our community. We are seeking a highly organized Medical Receptionist to manage the intake and scheduling of 3 physician Specialists.

The Role

In this role, you will be the primary link between our referring physicians, patients, and clinical specialists. You will leverage modern digital healthcare tools to ensure an efficient clinic workflow and a high standard of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- Patient Intake & Engagement: Manage digital patient check-ins, automated screening forms, and patient reminders using TELUS Collaborative Health Network and the Oceans, and Ontario Telemedicine.
- Specialist Scheduling: Coordinate complex appointments for consultations/follow up, balancing physician availability with urgent patient needs.
- EMR Management: Accurately update, sort, and maintain digital medical files, test results,



and specialist referrals within the TELUS EMR system.
- Communication Hub: Handle incoming phone calls, secure digital messaging, and incoming e-referrals from local family practices and hospitals.
- Administrative Support: Prepare medical documents, manager RX re-fills, requests for records and specialized treatment request forms. Must be organized, able to multi-task and prioritize.

Qualifications & Skills

- Software Expertise: Hands-on experience with TELUS EMR platforms and Oceans digital health tools is highly preferred.
- Experience: 1+ years of experience working as an MOA or receptionist, ideally within a diagnostic or medical specialist clinic.
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Medical Office Administration program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Skills: Superior multitasking abilities, strong attention to detail, and a deep understanding of medical terminology.
- Core Traits: High professionalism, reliability for a standard 9-5 work week, and excellent communication skills.
