Child caregiver – private home (AC Family)

Child Caregiver needed for busy family – work in employer’s home in an urban area, public transportation available, non-smoking environment
Optional accommodation available at no charge on a live-in basis. Note: this is NOT a condition of employment.

Wage: $21.00 hourly / 35 hours per week
Terms of employment: Permanent employment, full time
Shifts: Early morning, morning, day, evening, night, weekend; flexible schedule; overtime required and overtime available
Start date: Starts as early as
Languages: English or French
Education: College/CEGEP
Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years

Tasks

- Assume full responsibility for household in absence of parents
- Perform light housekeeping and cleaning duties
- Travel with family on trips and assist with child supervision and housekeeping duties
- Bathe, dress and feed infants and children
- Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents




- Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home
- Organize activities such as games and outings for children
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals
- Prepare infants and children for rest periods
- Supervise and care for children
- Take children to and from school and to appointments
- Tend to emotional well-being of children
- Help children with homework

Care for: multi-aged group of children, twins, school age (6-12 years), kindergarten age (4-5 years)

Personal suitability: client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, reliability, patience

Who can apply: Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, and temporary residents of Canada with a valid open work permit. Do not apply if you are not authorized to work in Canada or are on a closed work permit.
