Junior Mine Surveyor
About the Role
Talisker Resources Ltd. is a British Columbia-focused gold exploration and development company advancing its flagship Bralorne Gold Project toward underground production at the Mustang Mine.
As we continue to grow our underground operations and Mine Technical Services team, we are seeking a Junior Mine Surveyor to join our team at the Bralorne Gold Project.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career survey professional or recent graduate looking to build hands-on experience in an underground mining environment.
The Junior Mine Geologist will work closely with mine engineering, operations, and survey teams to ensure high-quality geological data is collected, interpreted, and communicated in a timely manner to support safe and efficient mining operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with underground and surface survey activities using Total Station, GPS and other survey equipment.
- Complete survey pickups, layouts, measurements and other field surveying tasks under the direction of senior survey personnel.
- Assist with establishing, monitoring and maintaining underground and surface survey control networks.
- Collect, process and validate field survey data.
- Assist in preparing and updating mine plans, maps, drawings and cross-sections.
- Support the Engineering and Geology teams with accurate survey information for mine development, planning and design.
- Assist with development headings, as-builts, stockpile measurements, volumes and other operational survey requirements.
- Develop proficiency with Leica Total Station equipment and applicable mine-surveying technology.
- Assist with CMS scanning and drone surveying activities where required and appropriately qualified.
- Maintain accurate survey records, files and documentation.
- Identify discrepancies or potential issues with survey data and escalate them to senior survey personnel.
- Work collaboratively with underground Operations, Engineering, Geology and other site teams.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives involving surveying technology, processes and data management.
- Perform all work in accordance with Talisker's health and safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Diploma, certificate, degree or equivalent technical training in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, Mining Technology, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Recent graduates and early-career candidates are encouraged to apply.
- Previous surveying experience in mining, construction, civil earthworks or another field environment is an asset.
- Underground mining experience is an asset but not required.
- Exposure to Total Station and GPS/RTK surveying equipment is preferred; experience with Leica equipment is an asset.
- Familiarity with CAD or mine-design software is an asset; Deswik experience is considered an asset.
- Drone operation and/or CMS scanner experience is an asset.
- Strong numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Comfortable learning and using new technology, software and surveying equipment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability and willingness to work in both underground and surface mining environments.
- Strong commitment to safe work practices.
- Eligible to work in Canada.
Additional Details: Location: Bralorne, BC
Job Type: Full time, Regular
Schedule: 15 days on / 13 days off; 12 hours per day
Compensation Range: CA$70,000 – CA$105,000 per year (depending on experience and scope)
