We are seeking a skilled Mold Maker to join our team on steady afternoon shift which includes a $2 per hour premium. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assembling, repairing, and maintaining high-quality plastic injection molds. This role requires robust attention to detail, precision, and a deep understanding of mold-making techniques, materials, and equipment.
Job Duties
- Ability to use hand tools, machine tools, and precision measuring tools
- Operate machinery, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to fabricate mold related parts
- Spotting of slides, lifters, and inserts to ensure proper fit and function
- Ensure parting lines are spotted correctly to prevent flash and ensure proper sealing.
- Collaborate with coworkers to ensure best practices are being used and followed
- Timing of lifters
- Fitting of slides / retractors / lifter feet
- Plugging of core, Cavity and component water
- External water plumbing / Hydraulic plumbing
- Perform mold maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs when necessary.
- Ensure all molds comply with safety, quality, customer and Nextgen standards.
- Conduct precision measurements to ensure the mold's accuracy and functionality.
- Maintain and follow detailed checklists and procedures for steps throughout the Mold build process
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Follow company policies, procedures, and safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
Job Requirements
- Proven experience as a Mold Maker or similar role.
- Strong understanding of mold-making processes, materials, and tooling.
- Experience in spotting mold components, slides, lifters, inserts and parting lines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in using milling machines, lathes, grinders, and other machine tools.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in mold making or a related field is preferred.
- 5+ years experience
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent Pay: $36.00-$40.00 per hour
