Overview

Our Vancouver-based client is seeking a .NET Developer for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is predominantly remote, though candidates should be based in the Vancouver area and available to attend occasional onsite meetings as required.

The successful candidate will support a significant cloud modernization initiative involving the migration of a custom-built development platform from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role will focus on application replatforming, containerization, and the ongoing development of microservices-based solutions within a GCP environment. The ideal candidate will have strong .NET development experience, expertise in modern cloud technologies, and a passion for building scalable, resilient applications.

Responsibilities

- Participate in the migration of existing custom-built applications and platforms from Azure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using C# and .NET technologies
- Support containerization initiatives using Docker and Kubernetes
- Assist with application replatforming and modernization efforts
- Develop and enhance microservices-based applications within a GCP setting
- Collaborate with architecture,



DevOps, and engineering teams to ensure scalable and reliable cloud solutions
- Build and maintain APIs and backend services that support business-critical applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, and cloud infrastructure issues
- Contribute to CI/CD processes and cloud deployment automation
- Participate in code reviews and promote development best practices

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of software development experience using C# and .NET/.NET Core
- Hands-on experience developing and supporting cloud-based applications
- Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or strong cloud migration experience from Azure to GCP
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and distributed systems
- Experience developing RESTful APIs and backend services
- Strong understanding of software design principles and application architecture
- Experience working in Agile development environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
