Northern Health is seeking LOCUM OB/GYNs at the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) in Prince George; British Columbia’s Northern Capital! Prince George is the centre of business, education, health and culture for Northern BC. The UHNBC group serves a rural population of 400,000 people over an area of 600,000 square kilometers.

In addition, your flights, car rental, hotel accommodation (or temporary rental accommodation of your choice), and per diems on travel days will be covered. Assistance with travel and accommodation bookings is available.

Hours Of Work / On-Call

- 24 hours with a minimum of 10 hours on-site
- Number of consecutive days and frequency of on-call is negotiable

Locum coverage responsibilities include home call coverage, Urgent and Emergent Ob/Gyn consultations,



Primary care for all admitted patients under the care of an Ob/Gyn as MRP, Emergency OR for add-on cases, Ob/Gyn OR assisting, reviewing NSTs, prioritizing inductions and performing hysterosalpingograms. With approximately 1,200 deliveries per year, UHNBC It is the main teaching center for Medical Students in the UBC Northern Medical Program and provides teaching for UBC Residents in several specialties. The BC Cancer Centre for the North is on the hospital site, offering radiation and medical oncology services. We have medical students and family medicine residents who rotate through our service, as well as a senior OB/Gyn resident on community rotation from UBC for part of the year.
