: A skilled Office Administrator/Bookkeeper is desired for a busy law firm in Brantford, Ontario. This is an in-office role. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience ($55,000-$75,000)
Key Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping: Manage trust and general accounting in compliance with Law Society of Ontario regulations, including monthly reconciliations of trust and general bank accounts.
- Billing: Process client billing, invoicing, and accounts receivable/payable.
- Financial Reporting: Prepare financial reports and summaries for partners; maintain accurate records for HST, payroll, and other remittances; liaise with the firm's external accountant as needed.
- General Office Management: Provide high-level support to lawyers and staff, including coordinating with IT and vendors, managing orders for supplies, etc, and helping maintain smooth day-to-day office operations.
Qualifications Required
- 3+ years experience in a bookkeeping role, ideally within a law firm or qualified services environment.
- Experience with trust accounting and Law Society of Ontario bookkeeping requirements.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite programs (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook) and Quickbooks or comparable accounting software.
- Excellent communication and client service skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
Preferred
- Familiarity with legal accounting/practice management software such as LEAP.
- Post-secondary education in accounting, bookkeeping, office administration, or a related field.
