Duties

- Greet patients and customers warmly, providing expert guidance on eyewear options and optical services
- Assist with eye examinations by preparing patients, explaining procedures, and recording relevant information using medical terminology
- Support the dispensing of glasses and contact lenses, ensuring proper fitting and adjustments
- Manage retail sales of frames, lenses, and accessories while promoting current promotions and product features
- Maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions, laboratory orders, and service details using specialized software such as my vision express or similar systems
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the optical area, including laboratory workstations and display shelves




- Collaborate with optometrists and other team members to deliver comprehensive patient care and exceptional service experiences
- Maintain records and some bookkeeping

Experience

- Prior experience in optical settings or retail sales environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye health or optical procedures
- Laboratory experience involving lens fitting or frame adjustments is a plus
- Familiarity with optical equipment, including lensometers or other diagnostic tools
- Experience with retail management or sales strategies to enhance customer engagement and drive revenue
- Proficiency in using electronic health record systems such as Epic or similar platforms for documentation purposes
- Strong communication skills to effectively explain technical information to patients and team members
