Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic OSC (Out of School Care) Coordinator & School Van Driver to join our vibrant team. This dual-role position involves coordinating after-school programs and safely transporting students to and from school and activities. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children, possess excellent communication skills, and demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and service.

You will play a vital role in creating a positive, engaging environment for students while ensuring reliable transportation and smooth program operations.

Responsibilities

- Coordinate daily after-school activities, ensuring all children are engaged, safe, and supported in their learning and play.
- Drive school vans safely, adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols, to transport students between schools, homes, and activity locations.
- Maintain accurate attendance records, transportation logs, and communication with parents and staff regarding student arrivals and departures.
- Foster positive relationships with students, parents, teachers, and community partners through clear communication and friendly service.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections, perform basic mechanical checks, and report any maintenance needs promptly to ensure vehicle safety.
- Assist in planning and organizing extracurricular activities or special events for the children in care.
- Uphold all safety policies and procedures related to child supervision, vehicle operation, and emergency response protocols.





Experience

- Prior experience working with children in educational, childcare, or youth program settings is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in commercial driving or transportation roles, with a valid driver’s license suitable for operating school vans or similar vehicles.
- Multilingual abilities are a strong asset; fluency in Spanish and English will enhance communication with diverse families.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, staff, and community members.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics or mechanical troubleshooting is desirable for routine vehicle maintenance checks.
- Experience teaching or mentoring children can be beneficial for engaging activities and program coordination.
- Robust writing skills for documentation purposes such as reports, logs, or correspondence related to daily operations.
