Parks Canada Jasper, AB$80,860–$87,376 a year – Part-time, Full-time Part-time, Full-time – Overtime – Weekends as needed – Holidays – Location: Jasper, AB About the Position This position will provide Indigenous consultation and engagement support to the wildfire recovery and reconstruction efforts in Jasper National Park. The position reports to the manager of Jasper infrastructure rebuild and works closely with the Jasper National Park Manager of Indigenous relations and cultural heritage. The key outcome is to develop and strengthen working relationships with Indigenous partners for all recovery and rebuild activities.

Duties The successful candidate will provide guidance and advice to the recovery and rebuild teams in planning and executing work and support the team by facilitating Indigenous Partners’ interests into these programs.

Work Environment Parks Canada is a federal government agency responsible for the protection and presentation of Canada’s outstanding natural and cultural resources through a system of national parks, national marine conservation areas and national historic sites in all regions of Canada. Intent of the Process We intend to hire someone on a temporary basis as a full-time employee to March 31, 2027, with possibility of extension. This process may be used to fill an indeterminate position and create a list of qualified candidates to staff similar positions with various tenures (temporary, full-time, part-time, etc.).

Education A secondary school diploma or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience related to the position.

Experience - Experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities.

- Experience in the development, delivery and management of strategies, plans and programs related to Indigenous and partner engagement and consultation.
- Experience in providing policy advice and guidance to managers and staff. Knowledge - Knowledge of federal legislation, policies and guidelines related to partnering.
- Knowledge of best practices and trends for engaging and building relationships with Indigenous partners.
- Knowledge of Treaty, Indigenous title and cooperative management principles, practices and issues.
- Knowledge of the Government of Canada’s Recognition and Implementation of Indigenous Rights Framework. Abilities - Ability to consult and work collaboratively with Indigenous nations.
