About the Role The Township of Oro-Medonte is currently seeking applicants for an 8-month position for a Contract - Parks & Facility Labourer for the Operations and Community Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks & Facilities, the Contract Parks & Facilities Labourer shall be responsible for providing variety of custodial and general maintenance at the Township Arena.

Highlights of key responsibilities include:

maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, sanitation and safety of buildings, and ensuring the physical security of the facilities; Collecting and disposing of garbage, compost and recyclable materials; Responsible for the sweeping/snow removal of walkways, and emergency exits during shift, salting/sanding as required; Set up and take down of meeting and event rooms as required; WHAT YOU BRING The applicant must possess a high school diploma and 1-year related experience in custodial facility maintenance.



The successful applicant must hold and maintain a valid Class “G” driver’s license, shall be knowledgeable in the Ontario Health and Safety Act, WHMIS and be available to work flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays in a variety of environmental conditions. The position of Parks & Facilities Labourer is a physically demanding position, requiring the ability to lift and carry up to 20 kilograms, climb ladders and stairs A valid Ontario Class “G” Driver’s License and a satisfactory Driver’s Abstract and Vulnerable Sector Screening are also required for this role.

WHAT WE OFFER This bargaining unit contract position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $22.95-28.56 per hour). The working hours for this position will be forty (40) hours per week, from approximately September 2026 to April 2027.
