Calmo is a new neighbourhood bakery cafe and wine bar opening near Dundas West / Ossington.

We’re building a warm, thoughtful space focused on good coffee, in-house baked goods, thoughtful hospitality, and the kind of atmosphere people naturally want to come back to.

We’re currently looking for an experienced Part-Time Barista to join the opening team, primarily for Saturday and Sunday daytime shifts.

This is not an entry-level barista position.

We’re looking for someone who is confident working independently, understands specialty coffee, and genuinely cares about hospitality, quality, and café culture.

What You’ll Do

- Prepare high-quality espresso-based drinks, matcha, tea, batch brew, and seasonal beverages
- Dial in espresso and maintain coffee quality throughout service
- Work efficiently and confidently during busy weekend service
- Provide warm, attentive, and thoughtful hospitality
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient bar
- Follow Calmo’s recipes, standards, and opening/closing procedures
- Help with daily setup, restocking, and café operations
- Support the team as we continue developing the café and beverage program

Who You Are

- Minimum 2+ years of specialty cafe or barista experience
- Strong knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and dial-in




- Comfortable working independently during busy service
- Organized, reliable, and calm under pressure
- Friendly and confident with guests
- Interested in coffee, hospitality, design, and cafe culture
- Weekend availability is required
- fluent in English

Experience with matcha, batch brew, or specialty beverage preparation is a plus.

Typical café hours are 8:00 AM–3:00 PM, with shifts starting before opening for setup. Additional weekday or evening shifts may occasionally be available.
