Permanent Part-Time Medical Device Reprocessing Aide

About Us

Hanover & District Hospital (HDH) works with its partners to provide a full range of primary acute care hospital services and selected secondary services to meet the needs of the population of Hanover and the surrounding rural townships. HDH provides the people we service access to the care they need through 24/7 Emergency Department, Acute Care Unit

(inclusive of medical/surgical beds and multipurpose ICU beds), Physiotherapy Program,

Surgical Services Department, Family Centered Birthing Unit, Hemodialysis Unit, Palliative Care

Services and Ambulatory Clinics.

Medical Device Reprocessing Aide for our MDRD department.

HOURS – Currently Days, 8 hour varied shifts, including weekends and statutory holidays.

(Subject to change in accordance to operational needs).

Wage Range – $27.78 - $28.49

YOU HAVE

- Grade 12 Graduate or equivalent required;
- Completion of the MDRD Technician course as offered by the Provincial Association

(required); further information can be found at http://www.mdrao.ca/education/csao-mdr- techniques-course/

- Knowledge of principles, methods and operation of steam sterilization (autoclaves); and

endoscopy cleaning processes;
- Knowledge of handling sterile and non-sterile supplies and proper storage; including

ordering and receiving supplies/products and ensuring proper par levels;
- Clean, disinfect and inspect all instrument/equipment. Reports any defects;
- Switchboard coverage as needed;
- Ability to push/pull heavy carts, heavy lifting,



prolonged standing and working from

ladder;
- Valuable attendance and work record required;
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health

events in this organization and;
- Must support and contribute to a culture that reflects our code of conduct and the values

of this organization.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a hospital Medical Devices Reprocessing Department

(MDRD) (preferred);
- Experience in a computerized environment; and
- Well organized, self-motivated, able to work independently and as a team member.
