POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Payroll Manager or designate, the Payroll Administrator is responsible for administering payroll within the UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management systems, ensuring accurate, efficient processing in compliance with applicable legislation, organizational policies, and collective agreements.

The Payroll

Administrator performs employee payroll setup and maintenance, validates payroll data, audits payroll transactions and system outputs, investigates discrepancies, and provides payroll support to employees and managers. This position plays a critical role in maintaining payroll integrity through quality assurance, system auditing, reporting, and continuous process improvement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Payroll Administration– administer payroll using UKG Pro and UKG Workforce Management by creating and maintaining employee payroll records, processing employee events, adjustments, taxable benefits, and other employee transactions. Ensure payroll is processed accurately within established deadlines while maintaining the confidentiality and integrity of information.
- Payroll Auditing and Quality Assurance– review, validate, and audit payroll documentation, associated records, and system-generated payroll outputs to ensure information is accurate, complete, approved, and compliant with organizational policies and applicable legislation. Investigate payroll discrepancies, and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
- System Administration and Reporting– maintain employee master data within UKG, support payroll workflows, and generate, reconcile, and analyze payroll reports.



Participate in system testing, upgrades, and continuous process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency and accuracy.
- Communication and Support– provide timely, skilled, and knowledgeable payroll support to employees of all levels in the organization. Respond to payroll inquiries, explain payroll calculations and processes, and provide guidance on UKG functionality and timekeeping procedures. Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders to support efficient payroll operations.
- Compliance and Accountability – ensure compliance with the Tsuut'ina Nation Human Resources Policies and Procedures Manual, applicable employment legislation, Canada Revenue Agency requirements, and best practices. Demonstrate a high level of accountability, analytical thinking, technical expertise, attention to detail, and ownership of assigned responsibilities while safeguarding confidential employee information.
- Perform other duties, special projects, and assignments as directed by department leadership.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS: Desired Education, Knowledge, and Experience:

- High School Diploma or GED (CAEC).
- Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) completed or in progress is preferred.
- Five (5) years of payroll administration experience, including processing payroll in integrated HRIS/ payroll system.
- Experience with UKG Pro and Workforce Management is preferred.
- Experience interpreting payroll legislation and policies, auditing payroll transactions and reports,



and working with electronic timekeeping systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel with proficiency in Outlook and Word.
- Ability to interpret payroll reports, identify discrepancies, and apply strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of Tsuut’ina Nation Culture, History, and Language is an asset.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment while maintaining high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work well both with a team and independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to communicate professionally in a customer service environment.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.

- Valid Alberta Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
