Advertek is expanding to Burlington and is looking for an experienced Perfect Binder Operator to join our growing book manufacturing team.

Working in our modern production facility, you'll operate advanced perfect binding equipment to produce high-quality books, manuals, catalogues, and other bound products. You'll play a key role in delivering finished products that meet our customers' expectations for quality, durability, and on-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up, operate, and maintain perfect binding equipment for a variety of book and booklet formats.
- Read and interpret job tickets, production specifications, and work instructions.
- Adjust machine settings to accommodate different paper stocks, cover materials, book thicknesses, and production requirements.
- Monitor glue application, cover registration, trimming accuracy, and overall binding quality throughout production.
- Perform quality inspections to ensure finished products meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and make adjustments to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
- Work closely with Folding, Gathering, Stitching, Cutting, Shipping, and Production teams to maintain efficient workflow.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance and maintain equipment cleanliness.
- Accurately record production data and report any quality or equipment concerns.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

- Previous experience operating perfect binding equipment in a commercial printing or book manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Experience with Horizon,



Müller Martini, Kolbus, Bourg, or similar perfect binding systems is considered an asset.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to read production specifications and perform precise machine setups.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work overtime or shift work when required.
