Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Support patients with medication administration and monitor health status according to care plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary
- Conduct light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment
- Provide companionship and emotional support to reduce feelings of loneliness and improve mental well-being
- Help with mobility and transfer techniques using proper body mechanics to ensure safety during heavy lifting or repositioning
- Document care activities accurately and report any changes in health or behavior to supervising healthcare professionals
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care environments preferred
- Solid knowledge of patient care practices, including dementia care and working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and handle physically demanding tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to connect compassionately with clients of all ages
- Valid training or certification in caregiving, medication administration, or related fields is advantageous
- Reliable and punctual with a flexible attitude towards shift schedules
- Basic understanding of cleaning procedures and maintaining hygiene standards
