Position: Personal Support Worker

Starting Range: Starting at $24.40 per hour (Pending Education & Experience)

Monday to Friday - 35 hours per week

Location: 7 Shinkgwauk Street, Garden River First Nation, ON

Garden River First Nation, also known as Ketegaunseebee is located near Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. The community is part of the Ojibway band and is recognized for its cultural heritage. Created in 1850 with the signing of the Robinson-Huron Treaty, GRFN administers a variety of programs and services.

Various department managers oversee their individual programs, and overall administrative duties are overseen by a Chief Administrative Officer who is directly responsible to the Council who in turn, are responsible to the membership.

Garden River First Nation is looking for Personal Support Workers Part Time and Casual (PSW) to assist seniors, frail, disabled/or cognitively impaired clients with their physical, mental and emotional well-being when they cannot do so themselves or are requiring assistance to do so. They will provide support to clients to remain living in their home in a protected and healthy manner through adherence to Care Plan adherence

Required Skills

- Personal Support Worker Certificate from accredited institution
- Knowledge,



understanding and experience of First Nation culture, values, and traditions
- Clear CPIC required as a condition of employment
- Able to perform physical tasks and duties, including frequent bending, reaching, and lifting.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certificate
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Access to reliable vehicle to travel to client homes (milage reimbursed)
