Job Title : Full-Stack PHP / Laravel Developer

6-month contract | 100% Remote in British Columbia | Rate: $60-70/hour subject to experience level | Must hold a valid Canadian Work Visa

Our client, an established software company serving the drilling and workforce management industry, is seeking a Full-Stack PHP / Laravel Developer for a 6-month contract.

The successful candidate will help develop, extend, and scale a modern real-time drilling analytics and workforce management platform. The application supports key operational functions including timesheets, progress reporting, invoicing, and productivity analytics .

This is a hands-on development prospect within a small, collaborative software team where every team member has a meaningful impact. You'll have ownership of your work and the autonomy to take features from requirements through development, testing, and release.

The position is 100% remote and open to candidates located anywhere in British Columbia .

Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, test, and maintain application functionality using PHP and Laravel
- Build and enhance backend services and user-facing functionality for a production web application
- Develop new product features and improve existing workflows based on customer and business requirements
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
- Develop and maintain unit and end-to-end automated tests
- Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and implement reliable solutions
- Contribute to frontend development using JavaScript and CSS/SASS
- Participate in application architecture and technical design discussions




- Support CI/CD processes, Docker-based development environments, and AWS deployments
- Collaborate closely with product stakeholders and other developers to translate requirements into practical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and continuous improvement of development practices
- Take ownership of assigned features and projects through development, testing, and production release

Qualifications:

- 3–5+ years of professional software development experience with PHP and Laravel
- Strong understanding of contemporary PHP development practices and Laravel application architecture
- Experience developing and maintaining production web or SaaS applications
- Working knowledge of JavaScript and CSS/SASS
- Experience with unit testing and end-to-end testing
- Familiarity with Docker, AWS, DevOps, and CI/CD practices
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical deliverables in a remote environment
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, particularly within a small development team

Nice to Have

- Experience with Stimulus.js and/or Rails UJS
- Experience developing workforce management, analytics, or operational SaaS applications
- Experience working within smaller, product-focused software companies
- Familiarity with drilling, energy, industrial, or field-based operational environments
