Full Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PHP Developer to join our engineering team at Hiredbuddy. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining web applications using PHP, ensuring high performance and responsiveness to front-end requests. You will work closely with senior developers to implement new features, fix bugs, and improve existing codebases.

As an entry-level PHP Developer, you will be involved in the full software development lifecycle, from understanding requirements to deployment. You will write clean, well-documented, and efficient code, participate in code reviews, and collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, project managers, and other developers. You will also have the chance to work with modern PHP frameworks and tools, gaining hands-on experience that will accelerate your professional growth.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, test, and maintain PHP-based web applications and APIs
Write clean, secure, and scalable code following best practices
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic
Troubleshoot and debug issues in existing applications
Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
Work with senior developers to learn and apply design patterns and architectural principles
Manage database interactions using MySQL or similar relational databases
Ensure cross-platform compatibility and optimize applications for maximum speed
Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in web development and PHP ecosystem
Required Skills and Experience
0-2 years of experience in PHP development (internships or personal projects count)
Fundamental understanding of PHP and object-oriented programming
Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
Experience with MySQL or other relational databases
Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with a PHP framework like Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter
Understanding of RESTful API design
Familiarity with front-end frameworks like React or Vue.js
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and Docker is a plus
Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit)

Requirements
0-2 years of experience in PHP development (internships, academic projects, or personal work are acceptable)
Solid understanding of PHP fundamentals and object-oriented programming
Basic proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
