As aCustom Industrial Painteryou are responsible for the preparation and maintenance of paint coating and spray booth equipment and systems as well as for the cleaning, sanding, priming, and painting of custom machined-part surfaces. The Industrial Painter will ensure the proper adhesion of both paint and coatings that are designed to stand up to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry.Location:200 Avenue Road, Cambridge, ONDedicated Day Shift:6:00am - 2:30pm, Monday - FridayDedicated Afternoon Shift:2:30pm - 1:00am, Monday - ThursdayShift Premium:$3.00 per hour for afternoonsJob DutiesUse of spray equipment to apply paint and other materialsClean and prep surfaces using processes such as sanding, scraping and grindingRemove grease, dirt, paint, or rust in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, or sandblastersResponsible for reading and reviewing the electronic paint specifications, apply primer, mix paint to the correct ratio as per paint specifications as well as apply paint based on the exact mil specifications required by our customersPour paint into spray guns and adjust nozzles and paint mixes for proper paint flow and coating thicknessMonitor and identify flaws, such as blisters or streaks, and correct their causesSand surfaces between coats of paint or primer to remove flaws and enhance adhesion for subsequent coatsDisassemble, clean, and reassemble sprayers and power equipment, using solvents, wire brushes, and cloths for cleaning dutiesEnsure all paint related waste is properly labeled, stored and disposed ofMaintain paint booth and associated equipment to ensure proper working conditionEnsure all Health and Safety procedures are followedSafely operate overhead cranes to move material to and from paint boothsSkills and ExperienceAdapt to a changing work setting, competing demands, and able to deal with frequent changes, delays,
