Zone: Eastern Rural ZoneLocation: Carbonear - Private Josiah Squibb Memorial PavilionTrades Worker IIFacilities Management - Plant MaintenancePermanent, Full-timeNAPE HS07753POSHours: 75 bi-weekly (8-hour days)Salary: CG-29 (CAD 27.61 - CAD 30.67 per hour)Competition Number: VAC Posted Date: Closing Date: Open until filled.Job SummaryThe Trades Worker II (Electrician) is a journeyperson level position that performs skilled electrical work including installing, replacing or repairing electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components in accordance with Canadian and electrical codes. This also includes performing preventative maintenance on various equipment and machines and liaising and communicating with contractors and performing other related duties as required. This position is also responsible for the preventative maintenance of medical equipment such as beds, lifts, etc. Job DemandsBy applying for this job,



you acknowledge an understanding that regular requirements and demands of this job include (but are not limited to):Constantly lifts, carries or moves objects up to 11 lbs., regularly between 11 - 44 lbs. and occasionally over 44 lbs.Regularly requires physical effort using tools that require accurate control and steadiness, maintaining physical balance, standing, walking, climbing, using gross and fine motor skills, and working in awkward or cramped positions requiring strength and/or endurance.Work is impacted by time pressures/deadlines, interruptions and lack of control over work pace as priorities change, services being interrupted, etc.Job QualificationsGraduation from High School or equivalent. Successful completion of a Journeyperson's Electrical Certificate. A minimum of three years of experience as an electrician is required.Demonstrated strong time management, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.A satisfactory record of work performance is required.Employees, to review your attendance record please refer to your employee portal on the Intranet for details.



The attendance record is only available to employees who are currently in positions that accumulate sick time.
