This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Portfolio Manager - SAP ERP & Finance Platforms based in Canada.
This is a senior portfolio leadership role responsible for driving strategic SAP, ERP, and Finance Platform transformation initiatives across a global Life Sciences setting.
You will oversee a complex portfolio spanning Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Corporate Functions.
The role combines enterprise program governance, technology transformation, financial management, and executive stakeholder engagement.
You will guide global teams and implementation partners through ERP modernization, business process standardization, and digital transformation.
A strong emphasis is placed on delivering scalable, compliant solutions within highly regulated environments.
You will also influence roadmaps, investment priorities, risk management, and measurable business value across the portfolio.

Accountabilities:
- Lead and govern a portfolio of strategic SAP, ERP, and Finance Platform initiatives across multiple business units and global regions.
- Define portfolio strategies, technology roadmaps, investment priorities, budgets, resource plans, KPIs, and value-realization targets aligned with business objectives.
- Establish effective portfolio governance, monitoring financial performance, risks, dependencies, delivery progress, and executive reporting.
- Manage multiple concurrent SAP and ERP implementation, upgrade, migration, modernization, and transformation programs from planning through deployment, hypercare, and operational transition.
- Coordinate global cross-functional teams, system integrators, technology vendors, business stakeholders, and external implementation partners.
- Partner with Finance, Procurement, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Quality, Commercial, IT, PMO, and business process leaders to prioritize initiatives and optimize enterprise processes.
- Lead executive steering committee meetings and provide clear portfolio health, risk, financial, and performance updates.
- Drive ERP transformation involving SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and related Finance platforms across areas such as Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Plan-to-Produce, Supply Chain, and Inventory/Warehouse Management.
- Promote process harmonization, automation, continuous improvement, and business adoption across global operations.
- Ensure seamless integration between ERP platforms and enterprise applications such as CRM, MES, LIMS, HR, Data & Analytics platforms, and other critical systems.
- Ensure solutions and transformation initiatives align with Life Sciences regulatory and compliance requirements, including GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, EU Annex 11, SOX, GAMP 5, and Computer Software Assurance.
- Support validation, audit readiness, quality assurance, and governance activities for regulated technology environments.
- Manage multi-million-dollar portfolio budgets, forecasts, vendor relationships, and financial reporting while monitoring ROI and benefits realization.
- Drive change management, communication, risk mitigation, issue resolution, and dependency management across the portfolio.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 12+ years of overall IT and Digital Transformation experience, including at least 5 years managing enterprise portfolios or large-scale SAP/ERP transformation programs.
- 5+ years of experience leading global ERP implementations and digital transformation initiatives.
- 5+ years of experience within Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Devices, or Life Sciences environments, preferably in highly regulated organizations.
- Demonstrated experience managing global cross-functional teams, executive stakeholders, system integrators, and technology vendors.
- Strong expertise in SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA, Enterprise Resource Planning, Finance Transformation, and enterprise applications.
- Solid knowledge of business processes including Record-to-Report, Procure-to-Pay, Order-to-Cash, Supply Chain Management, and related Finance and operational platforms.
- Experience with program and portfolio management, enterprise digital transformation, Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, governance, risk management, and financial management.
- Familiarity with SAP functional and technology areas such as SAP FICO, MM, SD, PP, WM/EWM, Ariba, SuccessFactors, Business Technology Platform, Analytics Cloud, and Integration Suite is highly valuable.
- Strong understanding of regulated technology environments and frameworks including GxP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, SOX, GAMP 5, and Computer Software Assurance.
- Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, strategic planning, negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Relevant certifications such as PMP, PgMP, PfMP, SAP S/4HANA certifications, SAFe, ITIL, or Lean Six Sigma are preferred.
