Position

Overview The Production Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and optimizing production activities to ensure customer requirements are met on time, within budget, and in full compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and corporate standards. This role plays a key leadership function in driving daily production performance, developing teams, improving processes, and ensuring seamless coordination across departments including Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and Logistics. Key Responsibilities

Lead and support Production Supervisors and Lead Hands in daily operations, ensuring effective allocation of labour and resources to meet production requirements

Oversee day-to-day facility and operational needs to ensure smooth production flow

Partner with Order Management and Logistics to provide accurate and timely updates on order status and production schedules

Work closely with Process Engineering and Maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability, process stability, and production efficiency

Collaborate with Quality Assurance to ensure all products meet customer specifications prior to shipment





Coordinate with Purchasing to ensure timely availability of materials and prevent production delays

Develop and maintain the weekly Master Production Schedule and adjust as required based on demand and constraints

Proactively identify and resolve production constraints including labour, equipment, process, and material issues

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve efficiency, and optimize resource utilization

Ensure adherence to housekeeping, safety, and 5S standards across all production areas

Partner with HR on hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, and employee development

Enforce quality control standards throughout all stages of production and shipping

Monitor and promote compliance with health and safety policies, actively supporting a safe working environment. Qualifications

Important: This position requires current or previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Production Manager, or in a similar production leadership role within a manufacturing workplace. Candidates without direct production leadership experience will not be considered.

Required

Qualifications

3–5+ years of experience in a Production Supervisor or Production Manager role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

Strong background in production planning, scheduling, workflow management, and delivery performance

Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop production teams in a results-driven environment

Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles (Six Sigma considered an asset)

Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems, documentation, and compliance requirements





Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work cross-functionally across all levels of the organization

Experience in electro-mechanical assembly, wire harness, cable assembly, or contract manufacturing is a strong asset

Working knowledge of health and safety requirements in a manufacturing environment

Proficiency with ERP systems, production scheduling tools, and Microsoft Office, with the ability to interpret and use production data effectively

Post-secondary education in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience

Ability to work on-site in the Greater Toronto Area and support flexible scheduling or overtime as required. Compensation The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 – $95,000 CAD annually, depending on experience and qualifications (DOE). Additional compensation, including benefits and potential bonus eligibility, will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.
