Overview:

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director plays a key role in ensuring program success and sustainability, while serving a diverse youth community. At UST’s Scarborough location, the Program Director also assumes direct responsibility for academic programming, playing a leading role in supporting Grade 6-12 students to reach their educational goals, including tutoring and homework support, academic progress tracking, post-secondary success, and academic guidance.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a full-time and part-time team, providing direct programming supervision of the Squash Director and other program staff
- Host, develop and effectively execute all UST programming (in-person & virtual)
- Curate and deliver engaging, creative, and academic-focused out-of-school-time programming for Grade 6-12 students through tutoring, homework help, workshops, 1:1 support, and other enrichment activities
- Track student grades, attendance, and other key school data to inform individualized student support
- Provide year-round support connecting students to external opportunities including summer enrichment, pre/post-secondary programs, scholarships, internships, post-secondary tours and information sessions
- Assist students with academic guidance and applications to specialty high schools during the Grade 8 to 9 transition, as well as post-secondary applications and course selections
- Manage, plan, and oversee mentorship, volunteer, guest speaker programs, social media, and supervise work-study tutors in the execution of daily programming
- Create and manage all necessary permission forms, waivers, parental consent,



and update student information records.
- Establish and manage a training/on-boarding program to educate other team members regarding program tools, policies, obligations, and procedures
- Create connections and opportunities between parents, partner schools, donor community and key stakeholders
- Student Recruitment: participate as part of the team to evaluate and select new UST students annually
- Work closely and transparently with third-party vendors
- Work with the Executive Director with fundraising initiatives including but not limited too, annual fundraising campaigns, grant writing, stewardship, marketing materials, donor relationships and database management, potential funding sources and event planning and execution
- Perform ad hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications:
- Minimum bachelor’s degree in education, social work, or related field, higher education preferred
- 3-5 years of supervisory experience, providing direct supervision of a team
- Familiarity with the education and community programming landscape
- Experience working with traditionally underrepresented and under-served students
- Proven track record of working in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment
- Excellent written, verbal communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
- Comfort with data tracking and goal setting
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Must be able to travel with students, on occasion to the United States
- Valid driver’s license is a must
- Connection to squash community/play squash and experience working with youth is an asset

Hours: ● General hours are Monday through Friday 10am-6pm, though adjustments are necessary on occasion due to community events, tournaments, post-secondary tours and summer camps. The position entails weekend work and travel – particularly for tournaments during the school year.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
