Position Summary The Program Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for the design, development, implementation and evaluation of programs and community initiatives delivered by the Caribbean Canadian Association of Waterloo Region (CCAWR). The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that programs align with CCAWR’s mission, strategic priorities, community needs and organizational objectives.

The Program Manager oversees day-to-day program operations, coordinates staff and volunteers, manages community partnerships and stakeholder relationships, monitors program budgets and outcomes and leads continuous improvement initiatives. The role also contributes to fundraising, grant development and reporting and community engagement.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of CCAWR programs, workshops, and community initiatives.
- Develop program plans, timelines, budgets, deliverables and performance measures.
- Coordinate and provide leadership to staff, volunteers, facilitators, and community partners.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, businesses, funders, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor program outcomes, collect participant feedback, and prepare reports for leadership and funders.
- Contribute to grant applications, funding proposals, sponsorships, and fundraising initiatives.
- Lead community outreach, engagement, and promotion of CCAWR programs.
- Support event planning and represent CCAWR at community meetings and events.
- Identify opportunities to improve programs,



expand community impact, and respond to emerging community needs.

Qualifications and Experience

- Post-secondary education in Community Development, Social Work, Social Sciences, Non-Profit Management, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of experience in program management, community development, non-profit management, or a related field.
- Experience managing programs, budgets, partnerships, volunteers and/or project teams.
- Strong organizational, leadership, project management, exceptional communication and relationship-building skills.
- Experience with program evaluation, reporting and grant/funder requirements.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with tools such as Canva.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, anti-racism, accessibility, and community empowerment.

Assets

- Experience working with African, Caribbean, and Black (ACB) communities.
- Knowledge of Waterloo Region’s social, economic, cultural, and community landscape.
- Experience working in the non-profit or charitable sector.
- Experience with fundraising, sponsorship development, or community partnerships.

Compensation: The hourly starting salary for this role will be between $28 and $35 p.h and will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Why Join CCAWR?
