About Us
Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Remote Programmer / Software Developer for a contract opportunity with one of our Federal Government clients. This is a remote role that can be filled from anywhere within Canada.

Position Summary
We are seeking an Intermediate Programmer / Software Developer to support the maintenance, enhancement, and ongoing sustainment of a bilingual mobile application for iOS and Android used by the Canadian Armed Forces.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining application functionality, implementing enhancements and new features, addressing security and platform compliance requirements, supporting mobile application releases, and ensuring the application remains accessible, secure, and bilingual. The resource will collaborate with Federal Government stakeholders and contribute to documentation, security assessments, incident response, and knowledge transfer activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and support a bilingual mobile application for iOS and Android.
- Perform corrective maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and implement new application features.
- Ensure ongoing compatibility with iOS and Android platform updates and applicable security requirements.
- Support App Store and Google Play Store release processes.
- Assist with security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and incident response activities.
- Ensure application accessibility, privacy, security, and bilingual requirements are maintained.
- Update technical and application documentation as required.
- Collaborate with Federal Government stakeholders and participate in technical meetings.
- Provide regular status updates and progress reporting.
- Use Government-approved tools, repositories, development environments, and processes.
- Support application transition and handover activities, including source code, documentation, and knowledge transfer.

Required Qualifications
- Canadian residency and active Government of Canada Reliability Clearance.
- Intermediate-level experience in software development, with demonstrated experience developing and maintaining mobile applications.
- Hands-on experience developing for both iOS and Android platforms.
- Experience with mobile application maintenance, enhancements, troubleshooting, and release management.
- Experience working with application security, privacy, and platform compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting App Store and Google Play Store releases.
- Experience with software documentation, source code repositories, and development tools.
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and participate effectively in a distributed team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting applications within a Government of Canada environment.
- Experience developing or maintaining bilingual English/French applications.
- Experience with accessibility requirements for mobile applications.
- Experience with mobile health, wellness, or other applications handling sensitive or personal information.
- Experience supporting security assessments and incident response.
- Experience with mobile health or biofeedback technologies, including heart-rate measurement integrations.
- Experience with formal application transition, handover, and knowledge transfer activities.

Compensation
Salary Range: $70.00 - $90.00 / hour
