Program Supervisor

We are seeking a energetic and dedicated Program Supervisor to lead and oversee the successful implementation of the Carleton Place Youth Centre programs. This role is vital in ensuring programs run smoothly, meet organizational goals, and positively impact the communities served. As a Program Supervisor, you will coordinate team activities, manage resources, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.

· Very outgoing, self-starter, community-focused with strong interpersonal communication, organization, leadership, time management, high quality fundraising and activity planning skills.

· Works well independently and in a team environment.

· Must be able to relate to children and be an excellent role model for staff, children, volunteers and in the community. Must be tactful, kind, patient, calm under pressure, creative, resourceful, productive, reliable, trustworthy, flexible, creative, and enthusiastic.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

Responsible for Supervising daily programming and providing direction to Program staff. Ongoing supervision of children, youth, staff and adult volunteers, ensures all of those involved have a safe and enjoyable experience.

· Reports to the Program Coordinator. Assists ED and Program Coordinator in the successful leadership and management of the youth centre, its events, fundraisers, and programs which support the Mission, Vision, Values, Goals and Objectives, and Strategic Direction of CPDYC.

· Maintains attendance, forms and records, confidentiality, documents, and administration. Attends meetings and training as required.

· Coordinates and facilitates staff, volunteers and participants through a variety of structured, programmed activities such as: after school activities, paid programs, day camps, fundraisers, workshops, training, special events, ensuring their safety and active participation.

· Works with the ED and the Program Coordinator to ensure the maintenance of appropriate standards of safety and security for the centre,



program participants and staff. Ensures safe and secure centre with all policies, procedures and regulations.

· Acts in a manner, which supports and models the Mission, Vision, Values of CPDYC, including being an excellent role model to everyone at all times.

· Maintains the Youth Centre in a clean and tidy state, carrying out Health & Safety matters, completing routine cleaning logs, and frequent sanitizing. Upholds standards as directed to/from supervisor.

· Contributes to the planning, coordinating and conducting of events, fundraisers, and outreach activities.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE

· Preference will be given to applicants currently enrolled or who have completed Community, Social Service, Child/Youth, or related discipline. Experience and qualifications may substitute for academic requirements.

· Minimum one (1) year experience working in an environment with children and/or youth. Experience working with/for a non-profit/ charity organization is highly desired, but not essential.

CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES

Standard certification is required before or immediately after hire:

· Standard First Aid, CPR C.

· AODA Customer Service (Accessibility Training).

· Valid police record clearance with vulnerable sector check; recent from last 6 months or to acquire on hiring.

· Additional qualification in relating fields an asset (i.e. High Five, Babysitting, ECE, NCCP, Lifeguarding, ASIST, etc.).

· Valid Class G Ontario Driver’s License and reliable vehicle required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Required to work 15-20 hours per week from September to end of June 2027. Some weekends required to accommodate activities such as meetings, public events, fundraising and other functions. Performs other related duties consistent with the duties outlined above.
