Basic FunctionPetro-Canada Lubricants Inc. (PCLI), an HF Sinclair company, is seeking a full-time Quality Control Technologist. Reporting to the Quality Control Team Leader, the role ensures product quality, regulatory compliance, and on‑time delivery in a high‑volume manufacturing environment. This position supports daily product blending, bulk loading, and packaging activities and works closely with Operations, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Technology, and Laboratory teams. It is an execution‑focused, manufacturing‑support role rather than a research or bench‑laboratory position. Success requires strong judgement, prioritisation skills, and comfort working in a fast‑paced, production‑driven environment.Production & Manufacturing SupportGenerate and issue product formulation sheets to support daily manufacturing operationsReview bulk loading schedules and provide quality input as part of order fulfilment activitiesReview and provide quality input to Basestock tank switchesManage inventory related to tank heel batch number tracking within SAPProvide real‑time quality support to manufacturing and packaging teams to prevent delaysQuality Oversight & Product ReleaseEnsure blended, bulk and packaged products meet internal specifications, customer requirements, and regulatory standardsReview and approve quality of incoming raw materials, including entry of third‑party laboratory data into SAPIssue Certificates of Analysis for bulk shipments departing the Mississauga siteMaintain the product retain sample programInvestigate and manage non‑conforming products, including product recovery through rework, adjustment, correction,



or waiver decisionsCross‑Functional & Operational AlignmentActively participate in daily cross‑functional meetings to support on‑time and in‑full (OTIF) deliveryServe as a technical liaison between Quality and other departments such as Manufacturing/Operations, Technology, Laboratories, Sales, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teamsSupport regional facilities and terminals as requiredReview and provide quality input regarding marine shipmentsCompliance & Continuous SupportEnsure compliance with Quality Control Procedures, work instructions, and applicable regulatory requirementsSupport audits, investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives related to product blending, release, and shipment activitiesOccasional off‑hour coverage may be requiredExperienceMinimum 2 years of experience in a laboratory, quality, or manufacturing environmentExperience working with specifications, procedures, and quality systemsComfortable supporting production operations under time‑sensitive conditionsEducation LevelCollege Diploma in Chemical Technology, Chemical Engineering Technology, Laboratory Technology, Industrial Chemistry, or a related applied science disciplineEquivalent hands‑on experience in a quality control or manufacturing support role within a specification‑driven or regulated environmentRequired SkillsStrong analytical and problem‑solving skillsAbility to prioritise, make quality decisions,



and manage multiple urgent tasksHigh attention to detail with strong execution disciplineEffective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a cross‑functional teamProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordPreferred SkillsWorking knowledge of SAPWorking knowledge of HFLS product lines and formulationsGood understanding of ISO 9001, IATF 16949 and White Oil / Food Safety RegulationsWork ConditionsNormal office working conditions on‑site in a manufacturing environment. Flexible work schedule as the job requires the ability to work in a fast‑paced and result‑oriented environment, covering multiple production shifts and geographic regions. Some off‑hour coverage is required which can be done from home. Must be physically capable of meeting the requirements listed below. Required to work in a petroleum refinery environment, warehouse/plant setting and outdoors including but not limited to chemicals, pressures vessels, tanks. Required to work in all temperatures indoors/outdoors and near moving mechanical parts and/or rotating equipment.Physical RequirementsJob conditions require standing, walking, sitting, climbing, lifting, twisting, talking, listening and making visual inspections. Must be physically able to climb stairs and industrial accesses (e.G. ladders, trucks) and lift up to 23 kg/50 lb.
