Project & Events Manager

About CAWIC The Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) is a national organization dedicated to advancing women in the construction industry through education, leadership development, advocacy, and workforce initiatives. Through strategic partnerships with industry, government, and educational institutions, CAWIC creates opportunities that strengthen Canada's construction workforce while increasing the participation and advancement of women across the sector.
Position Summary
CAWIC is seeking an energetic, organized, and relationship-focused Project & Events Manager to lead the association’s workforce development program while supporting the delivery of CAWIC's growing portfolio of events and engagement activities.
This full-time role, one year contract role, has two primary areas of responsibility:
Key Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage all aspects of the workforce development project from implementation through completion.
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, budgets, and work plans.
- Coordinate participant recruitment, onboarding, and program delivery.
- Liaise with educational and industry partners, mentors, coaches, employers.
- Provide ongoing support to program participants and ensure broader engagement post the program delivery.
- Monitor project milestones, outcomes, and performance indicators.
- Prepare reports, financial updates, and project documentation.
- Track participant data and evaluate program outcomes.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
Events & Programs
- Lead the planning and execution of CAWIC programs and events. Responsibilities include:
- Planning and logistics
- Budget management
- Venue and vendor coordination
- Virtual event delivery
- Registration management
- Sponsor and speaker coordination
- Marketing coordination with the communications team
- Volunteer coordination
- Post-event evaluation and reporting
Stakeholder & Partnership Management
- Build strong relationships with employers, industry partners, government representatives, sponsors, and members.
- Represent CAWIC at meetings, conferences, and industry events.
- Support partnership development and stakeholder engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience managing projects, events, or stakeholder engagement initiatives.
- Experience coordinating conferences, workshops, webinars, or professional events.
- Strong project planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience managing budgets and preparing reports.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Experience in workforce development, education, non-profit organizations, or construction.
- Knowledge of Ontario's construction industry.
- Experience working with sponsors, volunteers, and advisory committees.
- PMP certification or event management certification is considered an asset.
