Project Manager - Custom GPT Development

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Custom GPT Development to support a growing AI practice focused on designing, building, testing, and deploying Custom GPT solutions using the ChatGPT Enterprise platform.

This role is ideal for a technically savvy Project Manager who understands how AI solutions are delivered and can successfully bridge the gap between business stakeholders and development teams. You will oversee multiple Generative AI initiatives from use-case discovery and requirements gathering through development, testing, deployment, and user adoption.

While this is not a hands-on development role, the successful candidate will be comfortable working within a highly technical AI environment, facilitating requirements, managing stakeholders, validating solutions, and driving successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Project & Delivery Management

- Lead multiple Custom GPT and Generative AI initiatives through the full project lifecycle
- Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, risks, and dependencies
- Coordinate activities across business stakeholders, AI developers, technical teams, and leadership
- Ensure projects remain aligned with business priorities and delivery expectations
- Facilitate project meetings, status reviews, steering committee updates, and working sessions
- Communicate project progress, challenges, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders
- Utilize Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid delivery methodologies based on project requirements

Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis
- Partner with business leaders to identify and evaluate potential AI use cases
- Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, process mapping sessions, and requirements gathering activities
- Document business and functional requirements, user stories, workflows,



and acceptance criteria
- Translate business needs into actionable requirements for AI development teams
- Maintain project documentation and ensure alignment between requirements and delivered solutions

Custom GPT Testing & Validation
- Coordinate and participate in testing and validation activities for Custom GPT solutions
- Develop test plans, test cases, UAT scenarios, and acceptance criteria
- Work with stakeholders and developers to validate GPT responses, workflows, and business outcomes
- Track defects, enhancements, and issues through resolution
- Ensure solutions meet quality standards and business expectations before deployment

Stakeholder Management & Adoption
- Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and AI delivery teams
- Manage stakeholder expectations and maintain effective communications throughout the project lifecycle
- Support training, documentation, change management, and adoption efforts
- Help drive successful implementation and responsible use of enterprise AI solutions
- Promote effective adoption of new AI capabilities across business functions

Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience managing technology, software development, digital transformation, or related projects
- Experience leading AI, Generative AI, chatbot, conversational AI, automation, RPA, or emerging technology initiatives
- Strong understanding of the software development and project delivery lifecycle
- Experience gathering, documenting,



and managing business and technical requirements
- Experience developing and coordinating testing, UAT, validation activities, and acceptance criteria
- Strong ability to collaborate with technical teams and communicate with non-technical stakeholders
- Proven experience managing multiple projects and stakeholder groups simultaneously
- Excellent communication, facilitation, organizational, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, Miro, MS Project, and Power BI
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field

Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience supporting Generative AI, LLM, or Custom GPT initiatives
- Familiarity with ChatGPT Enterprise and Custom GPT development
- Understanding of prompt engineering, knowledge retrieval, RAG, AI agents, integrations, and enterprise AI governance
- Experience supporting enterprise AI transformation programs
- PMP, PMI-ACP, CBAP, Scrum, or similar certifications
