Project Manager – Finance Transformation (Oracle ERP)
Engagement: Contract (6 Months – ability to extend based on performance)
Client: Our client is one of Canada’s leading financial services organizations, located in the Greater Toronto Area.
The organization is undertaking a large-scale, multi-year Finance Transformation initiative focused on modernizing core finance processes, reporting capabilities, costing functions, and enterprise finance operations. This strategic program represents a significant investment and will leverage Oracle ERP as the target platform, with Deloitte serving as the implementation partner.
The Project
Manager will play a critical role in guiding the initiative from feasibility through implementation while coordinating a diverse group of executive stakeholders and delivery partners.
Work Location: Toronto or Mississauga, Ontario, Canada (Hybrid 2x/week, no exceptions)
Position Overview:
- Lead the planning, execution, governance, and delivery of a large-scale Finance Transformation program focused on Oracle ERP implementation.
- Partner with finance leadership, technology teams, Deloitte, Oracle, and business stakeholders to establish project scope, timelines, budgets, risks, and delivery plans.
- Manage project activities throughout the feasibility, planning, design, implementation, testing, and deployment phases.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across finance, accounting, reporting, costing, risk, compliance, and technology functions.
- Establish project governance frameworks, steering committee materials, executive reporting, and stakeholder communications.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, dependencies, issues, and change impacts while ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Collaborate with vendors and implementation partners to ensure successful delivery of Oracle Finance solutions.
- Drive project planning, resource coordination, milestone tracking, status reporting, and overall program execution.
- Support organizational readiness, business change management, and stakeholder engagement activities throughout the transformation journey.
- Ensure project deliverables comply with internal governance standards, financial controls, regulatory requirements, and enterprise risk frameworks.
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 8+ years of Project Management experience leading complex enterprise transformation initiatives.
- Proven experience delivering Finance Transformation programs across the full finance lifecycle, including financial reporting, cost accounting, finance operations, and governance.
- Strong understanding of finance and accounting processes within large enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience managing Oracle ERP or Oracle Finance implementation projects (mandatory).
- Demonstrated experience managing large-scale ERP, finance modernization, or digital transformation initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder management experience working with executive leadership, finance teams, technology teams, and third-party vendors.
- Experience managing project budgets, timelines, project governance, risks, issues, and executive communications.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, negotiation, and organizational skills.
Nice to Have
- Financial services, banking, capital markets, or wealth management experience.
- Experience working with major systems integrators such as Deloitte, Accenture, IBM, or similar consulting organizations.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or related project management certifications.
- Experience supporting enterprise ERP programs involving finance, risk, compliance, and regulatory functions.
- Exposure to change management, operating model transformation, and business process redesign initiatives.
Project Details
- Multi-year Finance Transformation program with significant enterprise investment.
- Oracle ERP has been selected as the target finance platform.
- Deloitte serves as the systems integrator and implementation partner.
- The project is currently in the feasibility and planning phase.
- Implementation activities are expected to begin in late 2026.
- Key stakeholders include Finance Leadership, CFO Office, Finance Reporting Teams, Costing Teams, Risk & Compliance, Oracle, Deloitte, and executive project sponsors.
- Project Manager will report into the Program Leadership team and oversee broad stakeholder engagement across all workstreams.
- Initial 6-month contract with strong likelihood of extension.
- Rehires who left the organization in good standing will be considered.
PAY DETAILS: $90 an hour
