We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Project Manager specializing in Installations to join our dynamic team. This pivotal role involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing the successful installation of store fixtures, displays, and signage programs. This role ensures project timelines are achieved, installations are completed accurately and according to schedule, and all work is validated against customer requirements, specifications, and quality standards.
The Project
Manager works closely with customers, internal teams, suppliers, and third-party installation partners to support seamless execution from project launch through completion.
What you’ll do
- Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of store fixture, display, and signage installation projects from launch through final completion.
- Develop and manage project schedules, installation timelines, milestones, and rollout plans to ensure all projects are completed on time and according to agreed requirements.
- Coordinate with customers, internal support teams, suppliers, contractors, and third-party installation teams to ensure clear communication, timely execution, and successful delivery.
- Monitor installation progress, confirm work is completed accurately, and validate completed installations against drawings, specifications, customer expectations, and company quality standards.
- Prepare and submit project costing, including profit and loss evaluations, and support project budget tracking.
- Prepare and revise contractual agreements in collaboration with sales staff and other internal stakeholders.
- Represent the company in customer presentations, project meetings, and negotiations as required.
- Prepare progress, installation, and completion reports for customers and Somerville.
- Ensure installation teams perform work in accordance with approved specifications, installation instructions, safety expectations, and quality requirements.
- Investigate installation issues or concerns reported by customers, internal teams, or installation partners, and coordinate corrective actions as needed.
- Source suppliers and contractors, negotiate purchasing requirements, and issue purchase orders as required.
- Oversee the scheduling and deployment of installation teams for individual projects and multi-site rollout programs.
- Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project execution, installation accuracy, customer satisfaction, and departmental efficiency.
- Perform other reasonable duties as required.
What you bring
- Post-secondary education in Project Management, Business, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects with multiple stakeholders, tight timelines, and customer-specific deliverables.
- Experience coordinating retail fixture, display, signage, construction, millwork, or point-of-purchase installation projects is considered an asset.
- Robust understanding of installation processes, site coordination, construction practices, and retail environments.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, blueprints, site plans, installation instructions, and specification packages.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer-service skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, and installation partners.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to respond quickly to installation issues and project changes.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Excel; experience with ERP systems and Smartsheet is considered an asset.
- Ability to negotiate with suppliers and contractors while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Bilingualism in French is considered an asset.
- Must be able to travel to installation locations to meet with installation teams, oversee projects, validate completed work, and conduct audits.
