Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Purchaser to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the purchasing process, ensuring that our supply chain operates efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, and the ability to negotiate favorable terms with suppliers. The Purchaser will collaborate closely with various departments to align purchasing strategies with company goals.

Duties

- Manage the procurement process from sourcing to purchasing, ensuring timely delivery of materials and products.
- Utilize ERP systems, such as SYSPORO for inventory management and procurement activities.
- Conduct self-guided research to become familiar with what products are available as well as their costs and benefits
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with suppliers to secure the best possible terms for the company.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure efficient supply chain management and inventory control.
- Monitor inventory levels and manage materials planning (MRP) to prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Develop strong relationships with vendors to facilitate effective communication and problem resolution.
- Analyze purchasing data to identify trends,



cost-saving opportunities, and areas for improvement in the procurement process.
- Keep detailed records and prepare and submit necessary reports

Experience

- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement roles
- Excellent negotiation skills with a track record of successful contract negotiations.
- Knowledge of materials management, inventory management, and logistics principles.
- Familiarity with ERP systems is desirable.
- Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions based on market trends and pricing strategies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
