Primary Purpose: The Purchasing Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day execution of the purchasing department to support our manufacturing and distribution operations, including oversight of the Purchasing Team, ensuring timely and accurate purchasing, resolving purchasing-related issues, and maintaining established inventory parameters.

Essential Job Functions:

Purchasing Operations & Execution

- Oversee the purchasing team and establish clear responsibilities, priorities and accountability.
- Allocate purchasing activities and workload across the buyers to ensure appropriate coverage and efficient execution, providing back-up coverage where necessary.
- Act as the primary escalation point for purchasing-related issues within the team and ensure issues are proactively resolved.
- Oversee the accurate and timely purchasing of products, components, parts, accessories, raw materials for our Manufacturing and Distribution operations to support customer demand.
- Approve inventory purchase orders up to $50,000. Escalate larger orders to Supply Chain Manager for review and approval.
- Work with the Supply Chain Manager to plan and execute bulk purchases and containers.
- Approve new system part numbers for all products, parts, and sales kits to ensure accuracy and alignment.
- Ensure purchasing records, supplier information, pricing, and system data are accurate and maintained.

Inventory & Supplier Management
- Ensure inventory parameters, including minimum order quantities, reorder points, lead times, lot sizes and safety-stock requirements are maintained appropriately.




- Review inventory parameters on a quarterly basis for our Canadian and US facilities and escalate summary of recommended changes to Supply Chain Manager for review and approval.
- Monitor supplier performance and ensure purchasing-related shortages, delays and supply risks are identified, and appropriate mitigation actions are taken.
- Assist with routine supplier negotiations related to pricing and terms and maintain strong supplier relations.
- Support Supply Chain and Sales leaders on initiatives to reduce obsolete or slow-moving stock.
- Escalate significant inventory risks, service-level concerns, and strategic inventory decisions to the Supply Chain Manager.

Education and Work Experience: Post-secondary in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management,



or related field. Must have at least five (5) years of procurement experience. Three (3) years of supervisory or management experience.

- Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
- A significant portion of the workday involves sitting at a desk working at a computer. Occasional standing or walking may be needed for tasks like accessing files, office equipment, etc.
- Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination are needed for tasks like operating office equipment and working with paperwork.
- The work is typically performed in a standard office environment without exposure to extreme temperatures, dust, or other adverse conditions.
- Moderate level of stress in terms of managing the workload, meeting deadlines and supervising staff.
