Position: Senior QA API Tester

Location: Toronto, ON (2-3 days hybrid)

Contract: Long term

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA API Tester to join our Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API testing using ReadyAPI, UI/front-end testing using Katalon Studio or similar tool, and hands-on experience in designing and implementing automation frameworks. The candidate will be responsible for validating APIs, web applications, and ensuring high-quality software delivery through effective test automation practices.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies for APIs and web applications.

Perform functional, integration, regression, and end-to-end testing.

Create and maintain automated test scripts using ReadyAPI for API testing.

Develop and execute UI automation scripts using Katalon Studio or similar tool.

Validate REST and SOAP web services, including request/response verification.

Design, enhance, and maintain scalable automation frameworks.

Analyze test results, identify defects, and work closely with development teams to resolve issues.





Participate in requirement analysis, test planning, test case creation, and test execution.

Perform data validation and backend testing using SQL.

Integrate automation scripts with CI/CD pipelines for continuous testing.

Maintain test documentation, defect reports, and quality metrics.

Required Skills

6+ years of experience in Software Quality Assurance and Test Automation.

Strong hands-on experience with ReadyAPI (SoapUI/ReadyAPI) for API testing.

Experience with Katalon Studio for web UI automation or similar tool.

Valuable understanding of REST APIs, SOAP services, JSON, XML, and API validation.

Experience in developing and maintaining automation frameworks.

Knowledge of test methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.

Experience with defect tracking tools such as JIRA.

Proficiency in SQL for data validation and backend testing.

Experience with version control tools such as Git.

Exposure to CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or Azure DevOps.
