Job Summary

We are hiring on behalf of one of our clients for an experienced QA Coordinator to lead and manage the client's food safety, quality assurance, regulatory compliance, product onboarding, labelling, and BRCGS programs in a full-time, on-site role in Burnaby.

Our client operates in the imported foods and packaged food sector, with a strong focus on rice and grain products. The business supports private label programs and works with major retail and foodservice customers.

This is a hands-on role with responsibility for daily site compliance, new product launches, private label programs, customer requirements, supplier documentation, and continuous improvement of the client's food safety and quality systems.

Responsibilities

- Maintain and continuously improve the company's BRCGS Food Safety & Quality Management System.
- Conduct daily QA/QC inspections, GMP audits, record verification, and facility walkthroughs to ensure food safety and quality standards are met.
- Monitor production activities, investigate quality issues, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
- Manage the Environmental Monitoring Program, including sampling, investigations, corrective actions, and trend analysis.
- Review and approve product labels, artwork, packaging, and regulatory information to ensure compliance with CFIA, customer, and certification requirements.
- Create and maintain internal product labels, SKU setup, SKU rationalization, barcode management, and product master data.
- Lead new product and private label onboarding, including food safety, regulatory, packaging, validation, and documentation requirements.
- Review and validate product claims, certifications, supplier documentation, and packaging specifications.
- Maintain supplier approvals, product specifications, allergen information, certifications, licences, and document control.
- Complete customer questionnaires, retailer portals,



technical documentation, and compliance requests.
- Lead customer complaints, root cause investigations, supplier follow-up, and corrective action implementation.
- Manage traceability, mock recalls, product holds, withdrawals, and product disposition programs.
- Coordinate internal audits, customer audits, certification audits, regulatory inspections, and management reviews.
- Prepare quality reports, analyze trends, and communicate food safety and regulatory risks to management.
- Partner with Operations, Production, Procurement, Sales, and Warehousing to promote continuous improvement and maintain the highest food safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

- Diploma or degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Quality Assurance, Microbiology, Agriculture, or a related field
- Minimum two years of food safety or quality assurance experience
- Experience with BRCGS, SQF, HACCP, or another recognized certification program
- Strong knowledge of Canadian food safety and labelling requirements
- Experience with artwork review, product onboarding, supplier approval, environmental monitoring, complaints, corrective actions, audits, and traceability
- Solid communication, documentation, organization, and follow up skills
- Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Preferred Experience

- HACCP certification
- BRCGS internal auditor or lead auditor training
- Experience with imported foods, private label products, major retailers, foodservice customers, warehousing, rice, grains, and dry packaged foods

Pay: $50,000.00-$70,000.00 per year
