Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our team. As Quality Control Technician you will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of Quality Control activities at our Bolton facilities, all within a fast-paced warehouse distribution environment.

Responsibilities:

- Inspect inbounds and outbounds for QC checks like damages, pest infestation issues, label, lot, best before, expiry, order and PO verification.
- Verify seal verification process etc.
- Maintains Deviation and Hold logs.
- Checks outbounds for cleanliness and damages.
- Overall examines incoming and outbound customer raw materials and finished products to make sure they comply with quality and food safety standards.
- Conducts daily GOP walkthrough & report any/all findings. Investigate RCA & Implement CAPA after reviewing the root cause analysis.
- Supports the Quality training, with QA Manager and conducts training on food safety and quality requirements for all employees in the warehouse.
- Ensure the site's training needs are met, and each employee has a thorough understanding of the rules and guidelines, and an understanding of their contribution to the storage and distribution of safe quality food.
- Perform in office verification and documentation as requested by QA Manager.
- Verifies re- packaging operation to ensure correct packaging, labelling, production codes, and best before marking and carton labelling, skid pattern etc.
- Verifies inhouse product hold process. Report any discrepancies to QA Manager.
- Assists with issuing and collecting Work Orders.
- Identify, report non-conformance for any out of compliance situation or food safety incidents.
- Completes inspections for glass and brittle plastics, pest control,



Pre-ops and warehouse related monitoring documents.
- Performs certificate of analysis check with warehouse team.
- Issues Non-Conformance reporting for incoming ingredient or packaging deviations.
- Monitors warehouse related cleaning inspections and maintains related documentation.
- Must be able to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and be comfortable in a high-volume environment.
- Ability to pay close attention to detail.
- Other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

- Post secondary in a food safety/ quality related program

Experience:

- 1 year experience in a quality control food manufacturing or warehousing distribution setting

Skills and Knowledge:

Computer skills

- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Requires the use of various electronic tools.

Language:
- Strong oral and written communication in English
- Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
- Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
- Ability to partner with all levels of warehouse team from Operators to Supervisors

Personal/Physical/Flexibility:




- Flexible and willing to work overtime where required (in busy season)
- Flexible to work during on call afternoon or night shifts.
- Flexible to commute to different location when request on urgent base.
- Requires the ability to stand for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
- Requires several hours per day of reaching or bending during inbound or outbound inspections.
- Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
- May require a visit to facility operations in ambient to cooler temperatures
