Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care is a 321-bed academic and teaching hospital that provides specialized mental health, addiction and geriatric care. Located on the shores of Georgian Bay, we serve some of the most complex and disadvantaged individuals in Ontario and are the sole provider of high-secure forensic mental health services in the province.

The Director, Organization Development, is currently seeking a Quality Improvement Consultant. The purpose of the position is to partner with leaders across the organization to advance continuous quality improvement, enhance operational effectiveness, and support sustainable change. Through coaching, facilitation, data analysis, and the application of Lean and improvement methodologies, the consultant helps improve processes, strengthen leadership practices, and achieve measurable organizational outcomes.

Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. Office location is 500 Church Street, Penetanguishene.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

As a trusted advisor and quality improvement expert, you will:

- Coach and support leaders in applying continuous improvement, Lean, and change management practices.
- Lead quality improvement and process improvement initiatives from planning through implementation and evaluation.
- Facilitate process mapping, partner engagement,



and problem-solving sessions to identify opportunities for improvement and drive sustainable change.
- Partner with leaders to implement and sustain Leader Standard Work (LSW), daily management systems, and visual management tools.
- Develop and standardize workflows, performance measures, and process documentation to improve efficiency, accountability, and consistency.
- Analyze organizational and workforce data to identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities, and develop dashboards and reports to support decision-making.
- Facilitate complex discussions, collaboration, and consensus-building across teams and partners.
- Monitor, evaluate, and report on improvement initiatives, providing recommendations to ensure measurable and lasting results.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field OR 3-5 years of experience leading quality improvement or operational excellence initiatives, preferably in healthcare
- Experience with QI methods and tools and their practical application. Examples include root cause analysis techniques, process or workflow mapping, run and control charts, Plan-Do-Study-Act, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI)
- Specialized training/education in Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, Improvement Science, or Quality Improvement - Preferred
- Project Management Professional (PMP) - Preferred
- Demonstrated experience leading quality improvement, Lean,



and change management initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Lean, CQI, Six Sigma, and quality improvement tools and methodologies.
- Proven ability to coach, mentor, and build capability in leaders and teams.
- Skilled in data analysis, performance measurement, and translating insights into actionable recommendations.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare leadership frameworks, adult learning principles, and team development practices.
- Solid project management, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to influence change, manage competing priorities, and navigate complex environments with resilience.
- Sound judgment in handling confidential information and making data-informed decisions.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills.
