Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quality Systems Lead to join our Quality Assurance team in Oakville, Ontario. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the maintenance, development, certification, and continuous improvement of the organization's Quality Management Systems, ensuring compliance with ISO standards, ASME requirements, CSA standards, customer requirements, and applicable regulatory obligations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance, certification, and continual improvement of the company's Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, CSA N299, ASME BPVC Section III, and other applicable standards
- Develop and monitor quality objectives and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure system effectiveness and drive continuous improvement
- Promote a strong quality and safety culture through employee engagement, compliance awareness, accountability, and continuous learning
- Lead investigations into customer complaints, nonconformances, and quality issues, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Plan and conduct internal, supplier, customer, and certification audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings
- Support supplier qualification, approval, and performance monitoring activities.
- Maintain and improve quality documentation, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality records
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality, regulatory, and customer requirements
- Provide training and guidance on quality systems, standards, and best practices.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, risk reduction activities, and operational excellence programs
- Assist with incoming quality verification and inspection activities as required
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong organizational, time management, and project coordination skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving,
and root cause analysis capabilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, CSA N299, CSA N285, ISO 19443, and ASME BPVC Section III requirements
- Knowledge of Quality Management Systems, auditing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experience leading NCR, CAR, CAPA, and root cause investigation processes
- Ability to interpret technical standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements
- Experience with supplier qualification, audit activities, and quality performance monitoring
- Robust mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and understand engineering drawings and standards
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with strong multitasking and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing or regulated industry environment
- Lead Auditor training or certification is considered an asset
- Experience supporting nuclear, pressure equipment, or highly regulated quality programs
- Experience with continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives
