Responsibilities

- Plan and implement engaging, developmentally appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth for children.
- Supervise children closely to ensure their safety and well-being at all times within the classroom environment.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, and team members through effective communication and active listening.
- Maintain accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and daily activities to support individualized learning plans.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create inclusive classroom environments that accommodate children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education support.
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, medication and accident reports.
- Ensure that all licensing requirements and “How Does Learning Happen?” are adhered to daily.
- Follow licensing regulations and organizational policies to ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
- Assist in the supervision and mentorship of ECE students on placement,



encouraging them to take initiative and develop professional skills.
- Use computer skills to document observations, communicate with families via digital platforms, and manage classroom administration efficiently.

Requirements

- Valid registration as a Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) .
- Standard First Aid and CPR, Criminal record check within 6 months, and up to date immunizations .
- Proven experience working with young children in classroom settings or childcare environments.
- Knowledge of early childhood education principles, child development theories, and best practices.
- Experience working with children who have disabilities or special needs; familiarity with inclusive education strategies is a plus.
- Solid communication skills—both verbal and written—to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
- · Collaborate with follow teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
- Proficiency in computer operation for documentation, communication, and organizational purposes.
- Excellent time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to guide and mentor less experienced staff or volunteers.
